Don't Break Up With Kelly Clarkson

My Life Would Suck Without You - Kelly Clarkson

Well, here's Kelly Clarkson's latest "My Life Would Suck Without You". Again we are given yet another relationship song from the former American Idol. The song goes into detail about how both people have major flaws and they can't stand each other, BUT they can't live without each other. I really think Ms. Clarkson needs to either get a good boyfriend or another song writer because I am personally tired of the cookie cutter relationship songs she puts out.

Also, I think they are trying to follow the pattern of the "Breakaway" album. This song sounds just like her other hit "Since You've Been Gone" in certain spots. If anything, even musically it takes a step back. All you have is a couple of chords vomited out and repeated over and over again.

Don't get me wrong, I love Kelly's previous albums. They were filled with relationship songs, but at least there was substance to them. Now it seems like this girl(who is in her mid 20's) has gone through a life of heartache and pain. At this point it really becomes unbelievable to almost everyone. (Kelly, remember the laughter?)

So what we have is a song for all those tweenage girls(girls between 13 & 21) and feminine men, to listen to and cry to because they just broke up with the love of their life after dating for about 4 weeks and can't go on living.

I was hoping Kelly would have tried to branch out a little on this album and maybe find something a little different. Even the video is like "Since You've Been Gone". I guess she has an issue with apartments. In this one they throw each others stuff out the window, in the other video she trashes an apartment. So the lesson here, if you break up with Kelly Clarkson, don't let her in your apartment and get your key back.

So to sum up, weak music, lyrics and video. Not a good combination.

  1. Ok... Well you know that I love Kelly Clarkson so I have to comment on this.
You seem to only pay attention to the top 20 crude. There are other songs you know. The top 20 are top 20 because the little girls wanna hear the mushy sappy crap.
    Case in point: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=73-V2A3NuWo
This is a deep song that you dismissed so quickly without giving it much attention but listen to what is being said. You miss the point by assuming she is one dimensional.
I have a question for you, Mr. Music critic. How is it you can find fault with Kelly Clarkson's songs but yet you raved about Brit's "Toxic", "Crazy", "Circus" and her ever famous "Oooops I Did it Again". Yes Brit, you did, AGAIN, put out another song to put all musicians to sleep, all except one... Weak music? Weak lyrics?
How many Brit songs did you down load? Hmmmmm...?

  2. Oh and one more thing. I don't remember Kelly Clarkson EVER getting half naked on stage in order to appeal to her fans, tween boys who have never seen a young lady act the way she has.

  3. I would not want to see either of them naked now.

  4. This stuff is music the same way Domino's is pizza.

Miss Clarkson does seem to have more than her fair share of relationship problems, though. Maybe she should seek counseling.

  5. Okay, I get that you don't like the song, but huh?... What planet are we on? This song is happy and the video is playful. Yes, they broke up, but he came back and she's saying she's glad he did. Where are you getting all this other stuff?

  6. I WISH SOMEBODY WOULD MAKE ME A COPY OF SOME KELLY.

  7. Oh poor Veto, you are missing the big picture. Kelly has no respect for your stuff. Whether she is happy or sad, she will trash your personal belongings. I am just trying to provide a small warning so if she shows up at your door, you will be prepared. I would hate to see her come to your place and start off all cool and then WHAMO! she just threw your hamster out the window and now he is dead. Why? Because you failed to heed the warning. So where do I get this stuff? The proof is in the crazy.

  8. All this banter makes me think that Kelly is a little more important than you think...Jason! Others seem to have some good points.

As far as relationship problems in you twenties...who doesn't have problems at that age?

Perhaps, you married early...therefore you have no idea what it's like to be looking for the right man...only to be heartbroken.

Oh...when was the last time you were as famous as Kelly? Don't you think that...her position may make relationships harder?

Anyway...I think Kelly is amazing! I like this song because it's unique lyrics...when was the last time you heard the word "suck" in the title of a rock song?

Oh...just waiting to hear what the great Jason will say! Such happy bantering!

  9. Ahhh Beebs, he's a guy. They do not have the resources available that we have, ie. emotion, empathy, etc.
Like I said... when one can talk about Kelly and has Britney Spears downloads, there really isn't much to say other than... DUH!

  10. Yeah...it must be a guy thing! After all Britney is hotter than Kelly!

But no...I'm not yelling...just happily bantering back! Sorry if it sounded harsh...totally unintended!

    Love ya both...as always!

  11. So I guess I have to defend myself here against the big bad women:)
First, I was simply warning people about Kelly and her actions ( as noted in comment to Veto. No one wants a dead hamster)

OK, here's the deal, I LIKE KELLY! I just don't like this song because it sound very similar to Since You've Been Gone. The music is very close and the vocals are written in the same manner and material. On the next album she will have a song titled " Since you've Been Gone My Life Would Suck Without You". See I just wrote her next hit.

As far as bad relationships, sure she has had bad stuff happen. But nothing good has happened to write about? It takes real talent to write about happy. Her fame, PLEASE SPARE ME. Thats what she signed up for the day she went on Idol. She is well compensated for that.
FYI, I am famous. I am known on both coasts. The only reason why I am not Kelly famous is because we are in a resession now.

So too some up, Kelly is OK, but write different music.
